So you need to Take a name and email and work them from a list or go article marketing which can stack up $$$ for you and it takes time, There are no easy solutions at the Moment.

I think I have a slap proof site Now but its harder to get the sales as you have to be 1-2 Page’s further from the sales page.

My split testing says that the Hop Rate (amount of people that actually make it thru to the sales page on the vendor site ) drops from 50% down to 25% and so do you sales which is the difference between profit and loss.

Don’t Give in Its gotten easier in terms of competition as there is less its a matter of finding a way back in I am running a campaign on Google at the moment and getting 300 + ad clicks a day at and average cost of 6 US cents a click.

So there is traffic on the Google network for your site Just make sure you have a testing account or two Google also don’t seem to track credit cards So don’t be paranoid about setting multiple accounts up off the the one credit Card.

When I first read about Multi DB I was lured by the fact that it could streamline and break my 10,000 Table Single wp-freeblog Database into many such as 16, 256, 4096, databases, “yeah I thought, Millions of Blogs!”.

Whooa down, lets get real you need to be realistic about where you will be in the Future I personally think 256 Databases is a good starting Place lets face it if you get that many you will probably be making some OK money or at least be Making enough to keep developing your Platform Ok pic a number

1. 16 Databases Up to 10,000 BLOGS
2. 256 Databases Up to 50,000 to 100,000 Blogs
3. 4096 Database Up to 4,000,000 Blogs

Step 1

The first thing to do is try to create your databases now this is either Straight Forward or not depending on your server restrictions, if there are restrictions then you will possibly need to change hosts or get the server Folk to CREATE the databases and GRANT PRIVILEGES to your account for these Databases

Go Now and Create your Databases done then Come Back here when you have got this sorted, As we cannot move on untill its done.

Step 2

Get the latest Multi DB Plugin  HERE and Unpack it on your own Local Machine

This is what should be inside  see the contents of this Folder minus the Zip folder,  the install notes here will only help you  put the files and Folders in the right directories which is a little dangerous Initially,  I actually Broke My site by uploading the Wrong file out of sequence so listen up

Below is the contents of the Multi DB Plugin

Step 3

OK  So you Now have your down Load  its unzipped on your local machine we are cranking

Now you need to take it easy here no rush load these files into  the appropriate folders

Firstly create a folder Called  wp-content/scripts/ then load the following files

list-hashes.php – goes in /wp-content/scripts/
move-blogs.php – goes in /wp-content/scripts/

Add these files into these directories

db.php - goes in   /wp-content
db-config.php – goes in /wp-content/

Make sure that you do not FTP upload these yet, we need to groom them first!

Step 4

Ok lets establish which files need be edited

You do not need to edit the files below

• db.php
• list-hashes
• server-ip.php

The files you will need to edit

• move-blogs.php
• db-config.php

Step 5

Lets Get editing this is the area we need to take care saves a lot of time

1. move-blogs.php – which sits in /wp-content/scripts/move-blogs.php

The only parts you will need to edit of  move-blogs.php are below

$dbname ( your_current _database )
$blog_table_prefix ( wp_ %99 chance this wont need changing )
$newdb_prefix ( mynewprefix_ this is the prefix to your new 16, 256, 4096 databases )

Then you need to change the database connection details such as below

$dbhost = ‘localhost‘;     this is probably fine no need to change
$dbuname = ‘username‘;  this is your Business
$dbpass = ‘password‘;  this is your Business

$db_scaling = ‘256‘; this is where you put the amount of Databases

We have to edit and  correct the move-blogs.php (which will throw you if your not ready)

Note**  there is a typo in this file which still hasn’t been corrected YET its to do with line 83 and line 85 instead of a hyphen - there is an underscore  _  between move-blogs.php

Multi DB Configuratrion this is based on my set up so you may have less Global tables to add or more depending on your Installed plugins

There are Four areas of editing here

So here we are standing at the Abyss ready to take the Plunge Ok lets do it…

FTP move-blogs.php into wp-content/scripts/move-blogs.php

then Open a browser and navigate to www.yoursite.com/wp-content/scripts/move-blogs.php

you should see this Image below.

Ok sit Back its going to take a wee while depending on the size of your database and you will see some error output but do not Panic its Part of the process

Ok Now is when you put or FTP the rest of your files across

db.php - goes in   /wp-content
db-config.php – goes in /wp-content/

these files will take over from your DB CONFIG FILES by default you do not need to change any thing in wp-config.php

Well actually I did just to prove that I was using the new Multi database setup  by commenting out the second line defining the Database name //define(‘DB_NAME’, ‘myold_singledatabase’);

Now also Something else is how the hell do you find where blogs are in 256 Databases easy

First thing is to get the Blog Id and enter it here using this MD5 Hash tool say if i put  blog id  2 into the submit box  the result is this

c81e728d9d4c2f636f067f89cc14862c The relevant parts of this result are the first 2 or three Numbers

Now go to database c8 and I bet your blog Id 2 tables are there, Magic aye and much faster then tryng to skim 10000 tables

Googles power usage  is close to 50MW  or  $5000 per Hour (Not very Green)
Google has to build its own custom designed mother Boards as-well-as power supplies. ( * Note: Google’s custom built power supplies are 90% efficient where commercial units are 70%)

FAILURE IS AN OPTION

In the first year for a new Data center there will be at least 1000 Machine failures, Thousands of Disk drive failures, One power unit will will fail taking out between 500 – 1000 machines for 6 hours, there is also a 50% chance a cluster will fail taking 1 – 2 days to recover a minimum of 20 racks  will fail!

Its Like a nightmare that wont go away for Winston Peters now, In a damning report released late last night, the privileges committee found by a majority that Peters had knowingly provided false or misleading information on a return of pecuniary interests.

The committee has recommended that Parliament today formally censure Peters for providing the false return.

And the committee has recommended that Peters be ordered to file, within seven days, amended returns for the past three years that include every gift, debt, or payment he has not already disclosed.

Brian Henry changes story

The master of ducking and weaving

Winston Peters’ lawyer has changed his story to Parliament’s Privileges Committee.

Brian Henry concedes Mr Peters was the client he referred to in an email to Owen Glenn, something he had previously denied.

Mr Henry remains positive however he solicited the $100,000 donation. He says he thought of doing so in a phone call with Mr Peters after he told him he had talked with Mr Glenn.

“That jogged my memory and then sent an email to try and jog Mr Glenn’s memory in the hope we’d get a donation.”

When asked if it was pure coincidence, Mr Henry replied “that’s just what happened”. Mr Henry says Mr Peters never mentioned money in the phone call. Story Here

This site examines the phenomenon of Wikipedia. We are interested in them because they have a massive, unearned influence on what passes for reliable information. Search engines rank their pages near the top. While Wikipedia itself does not run ads, they are the most-scraped site on the web. Scrapers need content — any content will do — in order to carry ads from Google and other advertisers. This entire effect is turning Wikipedia into a generator of spam. It is primarily Google’s fault, since Wikipedia might find it difficult to address the issue of scraping even if they wanted to. Google doesn’t care; their ad money comes right off the top.

Another problem is that most of the administrators at Wikipedia prefer to exercise their police functions anonymously. The process itself is open, but the identities of the administrators are usually cloaked behind a username and a Gmail address. (Gmail does not show an originating IP address in the email headers, which means that you cannot geolocate the originator, or even know whether one administrator is really a different person than another administrator.) If an admin has a political or personal agenda, he can do a fair amount of damage with the special editing tools available to him. The victim may not even find out that this is happening until it’s too late. From Wikipedia, the material is spread like a virus by search engines and other scrapers, and the damage is amplified by orders of magnitude. There is no recourse for the victim, and no one can be held accountable. Once it’s all over the web, no one has the power to put it back into the bottle.

Plagiarism by Wikipedia editors

Here are the results of the first study of plagiarism in Wikipedia that has ever been undertaken. I started with a list of 16,750 Wikipedia articles. They came from a partial list of Wikipedia biographies of persons born before 1890. There was no reason for this, other than the fact that the list was available and the size was manageable.
The next task was to download the XML version of each Wikipedia article and try to extract between one and five clean sentences. They have to be clean (i.e., “de-wikified”) or there is no hope of using them in a search engine. That’s because the entire sentence is searched inside of quotation marks. Each search looks like this:

-wikipedia -wiki “this is a complete sentence from an article”

When the sentence is inside of quotation marks, any little variation inside the sentence can mean the difference between a hit or no-hit. The cleaner the sentence, the better. The reason for the exclusion terms in front is that I don’t want mirrors of Wikipedia. I’m looking for plagiarism that goes the other direction — in other words, for articles that existed prior to the Wikipedia article. Wikipedia Watch

What’s New in Firefox 3.0.1

 Firefox 3.0.1 fixed several issues found in Firefox 3.

• Fixed several security issues.
• Fixed several stability issues.
• Fixed an issue where the phishing and malware database did not update on first launch.
• Under certain circumstances, Firefox 3.0 did not properly save the SSL certificate exceptions list.
• Updated the internal Public Suffix list.
• In certain cases, installing Firefox 2 in the same directory in which Firefox 3 has been installed resulted in Firefox 2 being unstable. This issue was fixed as part of Firefox 2.0.0.15.
• Fixed an issue where, when printing a selected region of content from the middle of a page, some of the output was missing (bug 433373).
• Fixed a Linux issues where, for users on a PPP connection (dialup or DSL) Firefox always started in “Offline” mode (bug 424626).

Note: for this tutorial we will be using the “Gradient Tool” located on photoshop’s Tools menu, or by pressing the “G” key as a shortcut. There are however, many other ways to access and create Gradients, such as through Layer > New Fill Layer. Layer > Layer Style, and Layer > New Adjustment Layer… but using the Gradient Tool (G) allows for more control over your gradient placement(s) and plus its right there and easier to use!

Making Gradual Two Toned Gradients

A two colored gradient is the simplest gradient to create but is also, in my opinion, the best looking as it doesn’t add too much noise to a picture or background. They allow for easy contrast between the background and the foreground of an image, allowing you to “show off” the main part of your creation, whether it be a graphic or web page.

Remember in this article we are learning how to make better gradients. So we are going to set up some “rules” here and maybe explain a little more about how to pick the colors for gradients. I’ve seen some horrible looking gradient patterns… just look at some of the default photoshop presets and you should see my point. Any color can be made into a slick looking gradient but you have to pick a color close enough to the original to make the transition between the two colors work. Picking a bright red color to transform into a bright blue will always look bad but picking a dark colored blue to transform into a slightly lighter colored blue (see above) will always work and look nice. This is even easy to do so lets begin…

Making A Better Gradient

Well thats the basics on creating a two color gradient but like i said before, we are here to discuss making better gradients. There are so many ways to make gradients its too much to cover everything here so we’re going to stick to a certain path by going over different techniques and try and cover the grounds that way. So lets begin already.

Lets talk about color tones and ways to choose them. Lets start with an experiment. Open up the gradient editor and double click your first stop. Now select a random color, any color and copy its hexadecimal code. Now close it and click the next stop (note: make sure they are far left to far right for this), now paste its hexadecimal code to have to same exact color selected. Now click one of the textboxes labeled “H S B” “R G B” “L A B” and “C M Y K”… for example, select ‘B’ in the HSB. Now hold down shift, and press your up key about 2 – 4 times (try this with other directions and selections). Chances are you have a perfectly good looking gradient. Easy, yes, fun? not really but you get the point. Stay close to the original color while making the different tones obvious. Now that we got that out of the way lets have a little more fun with gradients.

Techniques

There is all the hype going around about “Web 2.0.” It’s definition, which used to be pretty obvious is now getting a little more blurred as it grows on but we are going to use the term to describe what a lot of people call “Web 2.0 Colors.” They make for nice looking webpages and graphics that really stand out. Fortunately for us, this is a very basic concept and easy to re-create.

Lets start by using gradients in a slightly different manner. We’ll do it by creating a simple logo for a webpage. Follow these basic steps to begin…

• Start a new image (file > image > new).
• Select the size to be something around 380 x 170. (to give you room)
• Select the Text Tool (T).
• Press the “D” key to default the colors.

Now lets write a name for our logo. Call it whatever you please, i used the name of this site. Now choose a font. Almost any will do but i suggest something somewhat simple. Once this is done, rasterize your type layer by going to Layer > Rasterize.

Now we are going to make a gradient for our colors to use on our logo. Start by opening up the gradient editor. Click the first stop and choose your color, use something bright . I’m using a blue (# 0071b5) for the first color and using a darker blue (# 0284d1) for the second color.

Now place both stops in the center of the gradient (both at about 50%), see image below:
